Tree Update April 2024

17 left rough, three trees removed last fall.  Two were overgrown and affecting playability and one was damaged years ago and only had growth on the south side.  All tree removal decisions are first discussed in a green committee meeting and reccomendations and reasons are sent to the board for final approval.  The Club also has a written and comprensive tree removal policy that is follow.

17 Looking back at the tee and the 1/2 tree.

Side note: You can see here how the edge of the fairway has lost it's original edge.  Areas like this will be mowed back out this spring.

11 rough left, three trees trimmed last fall.

11 rough, 2nd tree trimmed and was planned for removal with it being close to the fairway edge, exposed roots, thin grass underneath and hindering approach shots.  After trimming the decision was to leave it standing and see how it looks and plays now after being trimmed.

11 rough, third tree trimmed.  Same thing on leaving it for a season and see how it looks and plays.

10 rough left, this tree lost 1/3 of the north side years ago in the big Glen Arbor storm.  It is rotton and hollow in the middle and it was approved by the board to have it removed this spring.
