I would like to introduce my 2022 Ladies of Turf!
On the left is Kennedy Ellis, she is from the Alpena area and is a freshman at Olivet College. Kennedy plays on the Comets golf team and is studying Sustainable Agriculture. She says that she wants to be a plant patholgist and is doing an official internship for us at The Club. Kennedy is currently working all week on the grounds staff at the Ladies US Open at Pine Needles in South Carolina.
In the middle is Adel Hilton, she is a junior at Travese City Central High School. This is Adele's second season with us at The Club on our grounds staff. She is our bunker rake wizard and everyone knows it! You can tell when she was behind the wheel driving the bunker rake spinning her magic, they just have that perfect look when she is here! We'll be getting Adel mowing our tees and intermedate cut once school gets out.
On the right, sitting on our new greens mower with NO hydraulic hoses, is Sydney Affholder. Sydney is a student at Grand Valley State University where she is enrolled in their nursing program. She joined us back in early May and she operates equipment like it's her second season with us. She took on mowing tees right out of the gate and is a very efficient operator.
Last year on the morning driving range tee set duty was Barb Hackwell, she returned for her second season this year and was a huge help with our spring clean up. An amazing opportunity opened up over at Crystal Mountain and she is happily employed there and we miss her on the team.
