A special thank you goes out to my amazing staff. They went through the third driest July in 18
years, they cleaned up the golf course after that massive storm in record time
and their additional hours preparing the golf course for the August
Invitational were very much appreciated. Thank you to the membership for your great comments and emails as well.
My equipment manager, Dave Ertl has been with me for 16
years, my assistant superintendent, Jon Lamb is in his 4th year and
my project foreman, Dan Spoor has been with the club over 20 years. I have 6 seasonal full time April-November
staff and five part time summer employees.
Everyone on my team is very dedicated to the club, hardworking, and
friendly. I had the dream team this
summer and am very thankful.
In the upcoming weeks we switch gears a bit with back nine
fairway aerification, then tee and collar aerification in September. Please see the aerification schedule below and posted
on the club’s website. Again this fall
we will not be aerifying our greens, just collars, tees and the back nine
fairways. Also coming up will be our
routine tree trimming, we’ll be starting on holes 8, 11, 12 and 17.
