Final GCIP Photos and Some Fall Golf Course Images

A perfect day for the final golf event of the year, "The Nightmare on Union Street"

A view from the new I and II tees on 13 with some of the white pine and scotch pines removed on the left to open up the view.

A view from 14 green looking north.  There is fescue seed planted underneath all of the straw blankets around 13 and 15 tees.

The new tees on 7, before tree trimming.

After trimming tree limbs, brush and removing two entire trees from the left of the new tees on hole 7.

A few deer crossing the 6th fairway.

Peak colors on 12.

Removing the old grass and making the cart path entrance on 12 finally smooth and with new sod.

The new fairway bunker on 15.

Adding new sand to the bunker on 15 fairway, 6 inches then compacted to 4.

Removing the old 6th green.

The old sixth green.  It was always a tough spot to grow grass, but it was one of my favorite locations for a green on the property.  It use to be a par four, your second shot came from the area in front of the tees on 12.

We moved the old sixth green grass to the nursery next to the tees on 8.  This is where the sod for new 6 green came from....which came from Kalamazoo CC last fall.

As the new 6th green and 7 tees were being built, we were undecided early on where the cart path was going to be.  Once it was settled that the new path would be on the right side of the green, right of the rough line edge, we removed the old path on 7 tee.  The gravel came out, topsoil was added and then sodded with Kentucky bluegrass.  The new path will be built in the spring.

Another picture of the old sixth green.  We sodded this area with Kentucky bluegrass and it will be our nursery with mowed rough grass for resodded worn out cart path ends in the future.

Last fall when the 2nd green was expanded, the new addition wasn't quite sloped very well from the old to the new green.  This was fixed this fall.

Another picture from the expanded green on 2.
