Here is one of my favorite views on the golf course. Everyone says “it’s all in the third shot on 6” or “it’s toughest approach shot on the course”.
I agree with both of these quotes. Personally I like to hit one or two extra clubs on my second shot to get past the corner a bit which gives you a better angle to the green and an easier shot.
One of my least favorite views is un-repaired ball marks. We strive for the smoothest surface possible on our greens. My staff is trained to fix 15 ball marks per green before mowing and rolling. We have this handy little gizmo to fix them without bending over but with the increase in play we don’t have time to fix more than a few dozen on 18 greens.
It’s every players responsibility to repair their own mark and one other. Six green is topically the worse green for ball marks because of the tough, high approach shot to a raised green. Please do your part to keep our Gem on the hill in great condition.
