It was sure a fast start to the season! All 18 opened last Thursday after the soft start with the front four. A huge thanks to my staff last fall for all that they did getting the course cleaned up, sprayed and winterized. We fired up the irrigation system with no leaks, course bathrooms and the practice facility open. Greens have been mowed three times and we are rolling them today.
In this picture Kryt is training our new employee Chris on rolling greens and he's fixing ball marks on the way. The roller operator is trained to fix 15-20 per green and I think our club can do a much better job fixing their ball marks.
My second assistant Scott is changing the hole locations, moving tee markers, getting green speed readings and emptying trash cans on the way around. I'm building another great grounds team for 2023!! We finished our spring bunker maintenance pushing sand up to the edges and getting them smooth. We'll be adding sand to the bunkers on the right of three approach and the fairway bunker on 13. We have new rakes that I think everyone will like with a longer handle and wider rake.
